Hypax Oxidate Esters
The Hypax series of Oxidate Esters and Ba.,Ca., salt derivatives
are designed to combine rapid water displacement of free and
adsorbed water from metal surfaces and deposit a thin continuous
barrier layer which will provide temporary protection to polished
metals exposed to atmospheric pollutants.The A3 series will
demulsify Caustic solutions and leave a clear interface between
the protective and aqueous layers.
Hypax 150 A3 ,2180 BSB and 600 CA3 have reserve alkalinity
to inhibit the permeation of acidic vapours through the protective
layer. A schematic of the mode of operation is demonstrated
below.The products also function as viscosity depressants
and flow additives for rheologically structured sealents.

Note: Demulsification is determined using a 15 % w/w of ester
solubiloised in dearomatised solvent mixed with an equal amount
of 5 % NaOH sol.The time taken to obtain a clear interface
is recorded.
