EX-IMA-1 Water Soluble,
Biodegradable Imidazoline Derivative
Ex-IMA-1 is a water soluble, oil dispersible, imidazoline
derivative designed for the protection of Ferrous metals exposed
to salt water atmospheres.
It is suggested for use at very low addition levels in hard
water systems as a temporary preservative for metals undergoing
reduction or deformation processes.
The product is capable of reversion to the amide, thus providing
a pathway to degradability in effluent systems.

TEST METHOD
Corrosion readings were recorded in formulated salt water
using an ATEL linear polarisation labratory corrosion meter.
A clean unpitted rust free 3 pin corrosion probe was inserted
upstream of inhibitor addition and readings recorded at varying
inhibitor dose levels.
APPLICATION INFORMATION
EX-IMA-1 is suggested for use at the 0.1% w/w levels in water.
For particularly soft waters it is proposed to preblend the
product with 10% wt. of spindle oil to inhibit a foaming tendancy.
The filming capability will be sustained at concentrations
down to 3 ppm on polished metals.
