Oxy-Wax
Ltd was formed at Billingham in 1991 as a specialist producer of
fatty acids obtained through the liquid phase oxidation of refined
petroleum paraffins. The oxygenates serve as feedstocks in the manufacture
of water and oil based soap and ester derivatives which are supplied
as intermediates to a diverse range of organisations world wide
specialising in the lubrication and surface treatment of metal exposed
to hostile environments.
The product chemistry is directly linked to science developed in
Germany in the early 1920's to resolve a general shortage of natural
fats used in the manufacture of surface active agents and as binder
for animal feedstocks.
The management of the company have contributed to the understanding
of the science and novel product applications and a number of patent
awards have been granted.
The products are highly regarded as strong polar active materials
having multifunctional properties when used for the preservation
of metals and other substrates exposed to extremes of weathering.
Oxy-Wax Ltd contributes to a total systems approach with clients
through to ultimate consumers world wide in the design and production
of carboxylic acid functionalised liquid paraffins and waxes and
their derivatives under the Hypax brand name.
This is achieved through the ability to provide a fast response
to client needs and the use of highly specific process equipment
managed by professionals motivated to achieving excellence.
The establishment of quality assurance management systems that have
been accredited against the ISO:9001-2000 international standard
will enhance business performance in striving to become the preferred
supplier to all our existing and potential customers.
The Hypax range of oxidised paraffins conform to current environmental
standards and the chemistry involved in their manufacture is designed
to permit natural biodegradability after use.
Oxy-Wax Ltd is committed to maintaining high standards of health,
safety and environmental management systems during all stages of
material and product movement ensuring full compliance with customers
and national policies governing the safe use and ultimate disposal
of products. |
